Old Fort Johnson

Old Fort Johnson is the 1749 fortified limestone home of Sir William Johnson, a prominent New York citizen of the colonial period.
This National Historic Landmark is owned and operated by the Montgomery County Historical Society (MCHS), a private, non-profit organization.

The Old Fort houses period rooms with a number of furnishings from the Johnson family, special long and short term exhibits, and a rare 18th century privy.
